Simplified Explanation on Google’s Page Rank
Let’s try to make the Google page rank explanation a little easy. This will help a common men understand it easily. Link structure of a website is considered as the primary factor by to decide the importance of a web page.
All websites are granted little amount of page rank. But we have to pay a little more to make our website rank well. The page rank either rises or decreases as votes or links pour in. The more the number of relevant links the more is the page rank. To be more precise, the web pages get page rank from every inbound links.
Inbound & Outbound Link
Inbound Link:
A link from a site outside of your site is called as an Inbound link.
In bound link send visitors to your web site. This is seen as a good thing.
Outbound Link:
A link to a site outside of your site is called as Outbound link.
Outbound links send visitors away from your web site.
When site A links to site B, site A has an outbound link and site B has an inbound link. Inbound links are counted to determine link popularity, an important factor in SEO.
Suppose, there are five fashion web pages such as A, B, C, D and E. Lets say A and B are new web pages. The other web pages i.e., C, D and E are already established pages on the web while the web page D has more importance than web pages C and E due to its content, link structure and design. Now, A has valuable content and so it gets an inbound link from the web page D. Similarly, the web pages C and E give an outbound links to web page B. Here, the search engine king interprets that if a web page links to other pages than it actually votes for it. Following the example, the web page D votes for the web page A. Again, web pages C and E also votes for the web page B.
